Aqueduct Plantation

The Newport Branch of the Shropshire Union Canal where it crosses Kynnersley Drive and meets the Humber Branch.

In 1891, Forbes’ survey described the plantation:

Chiefly Ash, with underwood. It has been thinned within the last few years, and should not be touched until underwood is ready for cutting. A few acres on the South side of the canal contain young Poplars and Willow rods.

Ordnance Survey 25 inches to the mile. Shropshire XXX.14/XXX.15, revised 1900. Reproduced with the permission of the National Library of Scotland.
